Avon Park August 2025 Show Slide Show

Greetings Cruisers,
On August 16, 2025, we had a small car show in the Historical District of Avon Park as part of the Jet Ski Races on Lake Verona. We did our best NOT to talk about the heat, but YES, it was HOT!

However, with the streets blocked off, food vendors, and Rock’n Roll music, everywhere you looked, there were smiles and smiles. And lots of doggies, too!

Given that the show was 23 miles north of our Lake Country Cruisers car show home at the Lake Placid American Legion, of the 40 cars in attendance, over half were cars and trucks we typically don’t see here in Lake Placid. It was fun seeing new-to-us machines.

And a big THANKS to James “Pappy” Wright for organizing the Car Show!

Just a quick reminder that if you are getting itchy for a Car Show, we have an Rx for you!

Here’s a message from our car pal, James “Pappy” Wright. See you in Avon Park this Saturday! – Scott, Pete, & Ron

Dear Cruisers,
Join us, Saturday, August 16th, for a fun-filled day on Main Street in downtown Avon Park.

There will be food, live music, and, oh yeah, an awesome Classic Car Show and Shine.

Bring your classic car, your chair, umbrella, fan, sweat rag, and water!

Bring the kids, the grandkids, and invite the neighbors.
This is a family-friendly car show!

When: Saturday, August 16th, 11:00am to 3:00pm

Where: E. Main at S. Lake, Avon Park

Who: All classic, antique, and collector cars, trucks, and motorcycles – old, new, original, and modified.

Fee: None – toys will be collected for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots

Lake Country Cruisers Car Club Now Has a Website!

Greetings Everyone!
Lake Country Cruisers is very happy to announce our first website, http://www.LakeCountryCruisers.com. All Lake Country Cruisers announcements and events coverage will happen here. When we publish a new post (announcement), our “newsletter” (RSS e-mail feed) will be sent to everyone on our e-mail list with brief announcements or overviews. We do not sell, rent, or lend our e-mail list and you will only hear from us when we publish.

For those of you that have been coming to our Cruisers shows since last October, you have noticed some changes. Pete Richie, Ron Ellerman, and I are co-managing the club. Beginning with last October’s show, we started asking for a $5.00 entrance fee/donation. This not only enables us to get nice car guy door prizes, but it also pays for the gas cards and Lotto tickets.

We have decided to take Lake Country Cruisers into the direction of, not just better door prizes and bigger 50/50 payouts, but the direction of “service to the community”.

Lake Country Cruisers is hitching our cart to the Lake Placid American Legion, Post 25 in their support of the Veterans Council of Highlands County. We could have gone with one of the fine national organizations but we chose to help our Vet neighbors in Highlands County. We believe that you will be pleased with what we have done, thanks to you! Lake Country Cruisers Will Be In The Lake Placid Christmas Parade!

Don’t Miss the Lake Placid Christmas Parade, Dec. 11, 2021, at 7:00 pm!

It’s been a few years, but Lake Country Cruisers will be back in the Lake Placid Annual Christmas Parade.

If you’ve never been to the Lake Placid Christmas Parade, you will find it is 110%-pure Americana! It doesn’t get any more Small Town USA than this. BIG FUN!

Lake Country Cruisers will have approximately 10 cars representing the club. So, come on out, support the Cruisers and have a big slice of Americana pie! Kids of all ages are welcome. Bring a folding chair and your camera!

Lake Country Cruisers Nov 13, 2021 Car Show – Slide Show

Dateline: 12.7.21 – The weather in south-central Florida broke early this year and we lucked out with perfect weather for a car show; sunny, breezy, low humidity, and around 78-degrees.

As usual, the show was held at the American Legion in Lake Placid, FL where we had 56 cars and over 100 people.. Our Door Prize Winners were; Mark Taboda, Gary Dahlhofer, Jim Maze, Roger Davis, and Susan Cavera.
