Our Corvette friend Tom Bungard needs your help

Greetings Cruisers!
   Last Saturday at our May 2026 Lake Country Cruisers Car Show, our Highlands County Corvettes friend, John Meyerhoff, made a special announcement about the misfortune our car mechanic friend, Tom Bungard, has suffered. 

While out fishing on Lake Istokpoga, Tom had a bug fly into his eye. Unfortunately, the bug carried a bacteria that led to a serious infection, requiring an eye operation to replace his cornea. The medical bills for the surgery and follow-up appointments are overwhelming, and Tom could use a helping hand from the community he’s served.

Cruisers May 2026 Show Cruiser of the Month!

Greetings Cruisers!
   Yes, it sure was HOT last Saturday, but we sure had a good time!

Our Cruiser of the Month was Rick Broadway and his sano 1965 Chevy Impala Station Wagon. Rick’s machine is powered by a 383 Stroker engine. It looks sweet and sounds even sweeter! Congrats, Rick!

Our Cruiser of the Month runner-up was Joel Brand. This was Joel’s first Lake Country Cruisers Car Show, and he scored runner-up with his 1999 Mitsubishi Town Box. We’re all car guys and car gals, and honestly, none of us had ever seen a car like this. We love all machines, thanks, Joel.

We gave away $130 for the 50/50, and our pal Gary Brundell won the runner-up prize of a $50 gift certificate to Dock 633 on Lake June Road in Lake Placid. A BIG THANKS to Dock 633 owners, Bill & Hillary.

That was our last car show for the spring season. We will be back again on October 10, 2026. The show officially begins at 11:00 am and concludes at 1:30 pm. But you can arrive as early as you like, we’ll be there. And for all of you early attendees, we will have FREE coffee and Dunkin Donuts!

The Legion will be serving burgers and hot dogs out back on the grill, so bring your appetite along. And, if you are an American Legion member, you can get an adult beverage inside at Post 25’s friendly Bar,

Cruisers’ April Car Show Cruiser of the Month!

Greetings Cruisers!
   It was a PERFECT day for a car show! It was pleasantly warm, sunny, and breezy. We had over 70 cars in attendance and several new Cruisers, including our Cruiser of the Month, Steve Juelke.

This was Steve’s first Lake Country Cruisers show, and his 1948 Custom Studebaker Champion Street Rod was spectacular! Steve’s machine is powered by a 1995 LT1 Corvette small-block engine and is driver-friendly with a Corvette 4-speed automatic transmission. The car has been chopped, shaved, and lowered, and was built in the late 1990s.

We also had a trailered red Cobra kit car and a Shelby Daytona Coupe replica that were first timers.

Our next Lake Country Cruisers Car Show will be Saturday, May 9, 2026, at American Legion Post 25 in Lake Placid, Florida. That will be our last car show for the spring season. The show officially begins at 11:00 am and concludes at 1:30 pm. But you can arrive as early as you like, we’ll be there. More than 100 Corvettes from the Tampa Bay Possee Corvettes will be cruising into Highlands County for the Family Resource Provider Fair on Saturday, April 25, in the JCPenney parking lot at Lakeshore Mall, 901 U.S. 27 N., Sebring.

Placid Lakes Community “Show’n Shine” Saturday, March 28, 2026

Greetings Cruisers!
   Our Cruiser friends at the Placid Lakes Home and Property Owners Association are hosting a Show’n Shine Car Show, Saturday, March 28, 2026. If you are not familiar with the beautiful Placid Lakes community, here’s the street address: 2010 Placid Lakes Blvd., Lake Placid, FL 33862. See the map below.

The Car Show will be from 9 AM to 2 PM. There will be music, ice cream, hot dogs, and crafts.

The Placid Lakes Home and Property Owners Association said on their Facebook page, “We are telling everyone that is coming for the car show to bring your lawn chairs and umbrellas because if it’s anything like last year, people will be sitting around and talking about their cars! And this year, we made sure that Clark sprayed for the Red Ants 2 weeks ago!”

Weather.com says that tomorrow will be warm, 82 degrees by noon and 87 degrees by 2 PM. Come early while it’s cool and bring plenty of beverages.

Greetings Cruisers!
   Yes, it’s been a chilly winter, but last Saturday’s Car Show was perfect! The weather was great, and a good time was had by all. We had 72 cars!

A BIG THANKS to everyone who attended.

And if you missed last Saturday’s Car Show, we’ll do it again, Saturday, March 14, 2026. 

Our Cruiser of the Month was Len Barney and his beautiful 1940 Buick Super Coupe Restomod, powered by a 504 big-block Chevy crate engine.

Gary Burdell was our 50/50 winner, and Jack Murphy won the 50/50 runner-up prize: a $50 gift certificate from Mr. Sammy’s Pizza Restaurant in downtown Lake Placid.

We had a PERFECT January Lake Country Cruisers Car Show

Greetings Cruisers!
   We had a PERFECT Lake Country Cruisers Car Show yesterday! The weather was perfect, and we had 90 cars! A BIG THANKS to everyone who attended.

And if you missed yesterday’s Car Show, we’ll do it again, Saturday, February 14, 2026. 

Our Cruiser of the Month was Brian and Cindy Yacoboni and their beautiful 1968 Mustang.

Thanks to our great attendance, our 50/50 payout was $200! And our winner was Victor Cabrera. Victor’s son was the youngest attendee at the show, so we put him to work pulling the 50/50 winner.

And wouldn’t you know it, after shaking the tickets thoroughly, the young lad pulled one of his Dad’s 50/50 tickets! It’s a game of chance, and it was the Cabrera Family’s Lucky Day!

Our 50/50 runner-up winner was Sylvia Westover (on right). Sylvia took home a $50 gift card for Dock 633!

So, CONGRATS to our winners!

Greetings Cruisers,
   If you’re itching for a car show, the local BIG ONE is here! Tomorrow, Saturday, July 26, 2025, is the Annual 2025 Caladium Festival Car & Bike Show.

Cars of all kinds, motorcycles, vendors, and food trucks will take over the Lake Placid Devane Circle, starting at 8:00 AM and closing with trophy awards at 1:00 PM.

Arrive early to get a shady spot for parking!

Goodie bags for the first 150 participants.

DJ entertainment will be provided by Jeremy of Mobile Music and More.

Spectator admission is free.

The show is part of the annual Lake Placid Caladium Festival.

Lake Country Cruisers Saturday Car & Bike Show Starts 10 AM

Greetings Cruisers,
   Saturday, May 10, 2025, will be our last Lake Country Cruisers Car & Bike Show for the season. Our shows will resume on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

Have you noticed that our beautiful winter and early spring weather is behind us? Yes, now it’s HOT! So, this Saturday’s Car & Bike show will officially start an hour earlier, 10 AM to 12:30 PM. We don’t want anyone melting!

Also, we are anticipating a lot of motorcycles at the show. American Legion Post 25 now has an official Legion Riders Chapter. Their first monthly meeting is this Saturday at 10:30 AM. We have let the Riders know that they are welcome to the Lake Country Cruisers Car & Bike Show. There’s room in the parking lot for everyone.

If you are an American Legion member, you can be a Legion Riders Supporter for just $15 a year. Then you can wear the “Legion Riders Supporter” rocker on your shirt sleeve. Even if you don’t have a motorcycle. We love machines at Lake Country Cruisers; two, three, four, six, or eight wheels!

As we move through the summer months, as car and bike shows pop up, we’ll let you know what’s happening and when. The Caladium Car & Bike Show is scheduled for Saturday, July 26, 2025.

Greetings Cruisers!
   Just a quick reminder, our next Lake Country Cruisers Car & Bike Show will be Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the American Legion Post 25 in Lake Placid, Florida. The show starts at 11 a.m. and wraps up around 1:30 p.m.

THIS JUST IN! 

Many of our Cruisers are also motorcycle riders. American Legion Post 25 will officially launch “Legion Riders Post 25” in a few weeks. 

Legion Riders love to get in the wind and go places together. As the Post 25 outfit schedules Poker Runs and other fund-raiser riding events, we will let you know. If you are a member of the American Legion, you can be a Legion Riders member for only $15 a year! 

So, if you have a two or three-wheeler ride, let’s see it at the next show!
