R.I.P. to Our Dear Friend & Lake Country Cruiser Founder, Mary Carol Plott

Hello Cruisers!
It is with great sadness that we regret to inform you of the passing of our dear friend and co-founder of Lake Country Cruisers, Mary Carol Plott.

Mary Carol Plott & John Meyerhoff, May 2015 Vette Vues magazine photo shoot.

On Wednesday, October 7, 2026, she fell ill while handling some Highlands County Corvettes business at Huston Chevrolet in Avon Park.

She was taken to the hospital and passed before her long-time partner, John Meyerhoff, arrived at the hospital. As of today (October 8, 2026), funeral arrangements have not yet been made. We will let you know when they are made.

Lake Country Cruisers was launched in 2003 by Ross Longo, Mary Carol Plott, Edde King, and many volunteer friends. Lake Country Cruisers Car Club, in Lake Placid, Florida, has been continuously active with car shows since 2003.

You can read the club’s history HERE.

Mary Carol and John were presented in Vette Vues Magazine as the Corvette Power Couple in 2015 in a 2-part series. Part 1, Part 2.
